Help me set up Critloop local alpha 0.2.0-alpha.2 for an existing React/Vite repository. Ask which repository to use if it is unclear. Confirm Node.js 22+, npm, Git, Chrome, and an authenticated Codex CLI; this release was tested on macOS. Start with a clean, committed repository and preserve existing work.

In the browser where I signed up, open the setup instructions on this site. Download the local runner, Chrome extension, and SHA-256 checksums from that page. Ask me for the local download folder before installing.
Verify the two file hashes against SHA256SUMS before installing. There is no public npm release; use the downloaded archive.

From the download folder, run:
npm install --global ./critloop-local-0.2.0-alpha.2.tgz
critloop browser --install
codex login status

From the repository root, run:
critloop connect .
critloop doctor
critloop start --background
critloop browser

Unzip the extension. In the Chrome window opened by the runner, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the critloop-chrome folder containing manifest.json. Keep that folder in place. In the extension choose Connect project, enter the runner address and token from its private pairing file, then Resume project. Do not paste pairing tokens or credentials into chat or shared documents.

Verify doctor passes, the app preview loads, and the extension connects. Try Discuss, then a small requested Edit; review the diff, checks, and actual changed behavior. Report any blockers rather than claiming success. Keep the runner active while in use; critloop stop ends the session. Handoff creates a local review branch only. Do not push or merge changes; automatic remote PR creation is planned.
